"Written Declaration" on Open Source in the EU

I've written before how worthwhile it is contacting your MEPs about open source and related matters. Well, here's another opportunity. Some enlightened MEPs have crafted “Written Declaration 0046/2008” urging the European Union to step up its support of free software....

Thanks for blogging this - I've now sent my own version of the letter to my MEPs. There are two things I wanted to add to your excellent points: (1) that open source software is a great contribution to overseas aid (and it's a gift that keeps on giving - and giving back); and (2) that if the institutions of the EU adopt FOSS, that will send a clear message that they resist the blandishments of lobbyists. Ho hum.
